The Asian Indoor Cycling Championships will be on Fire in Hong Kong Velodrome
The top class HK Men's Indoor Cycling Team has great confidence in defending their winning titles in the upcoming 14th Asian Indoor Cycling Championships cum Hong Kong Open 2016, which will be hosted in Hong Kong on August 6-7, 2016. For the HK Women's Team, it will be however a tough battle to step onto the winning platform, facing such strong teams from Japan and Macau. In order to fetch the silver medal, The HK Cycle-ball team will have to use their strong wheels to kick the ball into the goals of the Malaysia and Thailand teams.
" The Cycling Association of Hong Kong, China Ltd stages the event in the Hong Kong Velodrome for the first time. Doping test will be conducted by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI). Two officials coming from New Zealand and Malaysia will supervise the program. This proves the event to be highly recognized in the international cycling arena. Japan, Malaysia, Macau and Thailand will send their top riders to compete with our home team for the eleven gold medals. A three day pre-competition training camp will also be held for exchange of training skill and raising the rider's forms, and of course enhancing the friendship," Chairman of the Organizing Committee Alfred Li said.
HK Men's top rider Wong Chin To draws his figure program to 184 points, whilst he scored 164 points to capture a bronze medal in last year's World Championships. The old partner of Yu Pok Man and Ip Hin Bon can certainly secure the men's artistic pair gold medal. HK Women's top rider Luk Wing Yi suffered a hard time last year because of serious injury. She is fully recovered and looking for the feel of competition. Wong Hiu Shuen and So Ka Man is also the seamless partner for the women's artistic pair. The HK Cycle-ball Team players Chan Ka Kin and Lo Man Fai went to Japan for competition last June. It has strengthened their forms. They will also take the full advantage of the home venue to boost up their performance. The HK Team clinched a basket of medals, 8 gold, 7 silver and 5 bronze, in last year's Asian Championships in Macau.
HK Open 2016 will be held on August 7 (Sunday) following the 14th Asian Championships on August 6 (Saturday) at the same venue. All overseas riders also participate in the event. There is also a special rider Leonie Kahl of ten years old coming from Germany to enter the single event of Girl's Under 11. She has already hit a HK record as she is the youngest overseas rider of event so far. Leonie is being trained by Ms Gudrun Lorenz, who won the Women single bronze medal in 1978 World Championships. Leonie's father said, " Leonie started the sport at six years old, She loves to learn new figures and enjoy the training. We are very happy to see her development with the sport". Her story would also attract HK rider's interest and promote the sport.
There will be spectacular performance arranged for the Opening of the 14th Asian Championships on August 6 at 2 pm: Juggling performance, acrobatic cycling demonstration and the cheerful children riders on their uni-cycle bikes to welcome all the guests and riders. The 2-day events start at 9 am in the Hong Kong Velodrome. Free Admission for all the public.
亞洲室內單車錦標賽將於香港單車館掀起龍爭虎鬥
香港的世界級男子單車花式車手將悉數列陣，以東道主身份在第十四屆亞洲室內單車錦標賽暨2016香港公開賽，恃強勢衛冕各項目；而香港女子花式隊卻要面對日本及澳門隊的兩面夾擊，必掀起一翻激戰。而單車球港隊則力衝銀牌，不讓馬來西亞及泰國偷襲成功。
賽事籌委會主席李植源稱 : 「中國香港單車聯會有限公司首次在香港單車館於8月6日(星期六)舉行第十四屆亞洲室內單車錦標賽，以配合世界單車聯盟從新西蘭及馬來西亞派來專員來港為亞錦賽主持藥檢，可見這比賽在國際車壇上的認受性。而日本、馬來西亞、澳門和泰國也派遣頂級車手，以爭取單車花式及單車球的十一面金牌，在比賽前舉行三天的訓練營，大家可作交流訓練方法和提升水平，增進友誼。」
香港男子隊由黃展韜領軍，這次計劃以184分難度，挑戰他自己於去年在世界賽摘取銅牌的164分；男子雙人則去年在世界賽第四名的老拍檔余博文及葉衍邦押陣。去年因受傷患影響的首席香港女子車手陸詠怡已康復，並以此賽檢討實力，而女子雙人的黃曉船和蘇嘉敏則以穩定見稱，有力保金。香港單車球代表隊陳家健及勞文輝剛於六月到日本參加當地高水平比賽，已提升技術和狀態，憑主場之利和球迷支持，期望有更好發揮，力搶銀牌。香港隊於去年在澳門舉行的亞錦賽大豐收，共獲8金、7銀及5銅佳績。
在亞洲賽之後一天，8月7日(星期日)隨即於同場地舉行2016香港公開賽，各外隊更踴躍參加；年僅10歲的德國彗星級女車手莉奧妮將遠道而來參賽，是這項賽事以來最年輕的外地運動員，她是曾贏取1978世界女子單車花式銅牌德國教練羅雅絲的高足，而香港與德國單車花式已是長久的交流夥伴，這有助激發本港的女子運動員，莉奧妮的父親卡爾陪同她來港，並說：「莉奧妮於六歲時便開始接觸單車花式運動，她常渴望學習新的動作，又享受訓練，我們家人很高興看見她與運動一同成長。」
亞錦賽的開幕禮於8月6日下午2時舉行，增設特色的表演項目：中國傳統的高台定車的單車花式表演、雜耍、還有活潑可愛的小車手以單輪車歡迎嘉賓和海外參賽隊伍。兩天的賽事在香港單車館於上午9時開始，歡迎市民參觀，免費入場。

First Young Girl Rider Coming from Germany for HK Open 2016
There will be a new star rider coming from Germany to compete in the HK Open 2016. Leonie Kahi will mark our record that the first European rider to compete in the single event of Girl's Under 11. Her program is set at 63.3 point, which is the highest in group. The 2nd higher is Chan Wang hei of 46.6.
Leonie will be accompanied with her father Mr Kahl to compete in the HK Open and join the pre-competition training camp. He said, " Leonie started the sport at six years old, She loves to learn new figures and enjoy the training. We are very happy to see her development with the sport"
Leonie is being trained by Ms Gudrun Lorenz, who won the Women single bronze medal in 1978. She is attending training three times a week with her club and special weekend training once a month in Frankfurt.
Leonie said, " It is not so important for me to win in the competition, as I love this is my sport very much which brings me lots of fun."
The training camp will be held at the Hong Kong Velodrome start from Aug 2-4, 2016. And the 14th Asian Indoor Cycling Championships cum Hong Kong Open 2016 will be held on Aug 6-7, 2016 at the Hong Kong Velodrome. The events open for public. Free admission.

首位德國青年女車手參加2016香港公開賽
德國彗星級青年女車手莉奧妮將參加香港公開賽，這是女子U11組別的一項突破記錄，吸引首位歐洲車手遠道而來參賽。她的難度分設訂63.3，而比賽排名第二位的香港車手陳泓熙是46.4。
莉奧妮的父親卡爾陪同她來港，並說：「莉奧妮於六歲時便開始接觸單車花式運動，她常渴望學習新的動作，又享受訓練，我們家人很高興看見她與運動一同成長。」
莉奧妮現接受德國教練羅雅絲的訓練，她於1978年嬴取世界女子單車花式銅牌。莉奧妮每星期訓練三課，每月到法蘭克福作一次週末特訓。
莉奧妮稱：「嬴取比賽的第一名不是最重要，因為我十分喜愛這運動，讓我享受到其無窮的樂趣。」
訓練營將於8月2-4日在香港單車舉行，第14屆亞洲室內單車錦標賽暨2016香港公開賽隨即在香港單車館於8月6-7日上演，賽事公開市民參觀，免費入場。
